SATURDAY, October 12 saw a four ball better ball stableford competition played at Okehampton Golf Club for the Winter Trophy.

The winners of Division One were Alan Stokes and Lee Pengelly with 44 points. Rob Green and Sam Evans were second with 43 points, achieving a better back nine, from Evan Rees and Bryan Evans also with 43 points.

The winners of Division Two and the Winter Trophy were Brett Haines-Lawson and James Weller with 46 points, Paul and Andrew Rogers were second with 44 points, narrowly beating Reggie Wonnacott and Dave Stallion on the back six.

The ladies section entered the October Medal and the winner of the Silver Division was Frances Harbron with nett 70, Cherry James was second with nett 74 and Marcia Collett was third with nett 79.

The Bronze Division was won by Sue Davies with nett 73, Maggie Caws was second with nett 74 and Diana Johnson was third with nett 81.

On Sunday, October 13 the club held its annual AGM where retiring Club President Brian Willcocks handed over his badge of office to the new Lady President, Mrs Doris Jewell.
