ACTIVE Mid Devon is teaming up with Libraries Unlimited to support the community’s health and wellbeing with free drop-in events at Crediton and Cullompton libraries.

The sessions will take place on Friday, May 8 at Crediton Library and Thursday, May 14 at Cullompton Library, running from 10am to 2pm.

During the events, the Active Mid Devon team will offer free checks including blood pressure monitoring to help assess heart and artery health, as well as cholesterol testing to indicate the risk of heart disease and whether small lifestyle changes could make a difference.

Friendly advice will also be provided on fitness, wellbeing, and information about the range of facilities and services available through Active Mid Devon.

The event is open to everyone and provides a simple way for local residents to check in on their health, ask questions, and find out what support is available in the community.

Councillor Josh Wright, Cabinet Member for Service Delivery and Continuous Improvement, said: “These sessions are about making health and wellbeing support easy and accessible for everyone.

“By offering simple checks and friendly advice in a familiar setting, we’re helping residents feel more confident about looking after their health.

“They also give people a chance to discover the local support available and take positive steps towards a healthier lifestyle.”

Booking is recommended to secure a place. To book, email [email protected]. Twenty free cholesterol tests will be available on a first‑come-first‑served basis.

Please note that the Active Mid Devon team are not medical professionals and any advice given will be generic. If abnormal results are found, they will recommend booking an appointment with your GP for further discussion.
