YEOFORD Cricket Club held its annual dinner and presentation evening at the Tom Cobley Inn in Spreyton and saw an excellent turn out of players and guests.
Most senior player, Cleave Collins, scooped both bowling trophies and everyone was delighted for him when he was also presented with a well-deserved Players’ Player of the Year trophy.
Batting trophies were shared between Matt Leach who scored most runs in the season and Shaun Hawkins for best batting average.
Most catches once again went to Josh Misselbrook with Ash Pitts winning Champagne Moment of the Year.
Captain, Paul Coren, was voted Club Person of the Year.
Chairman, John Saunders, who presented the trophies, congratulated the players on an enjoyable and successful season which saw Yeoford come fourth in the Buckley Cup and winning the Cheriton Fitzpaine Tournament in August.
Les Stanbury was also thanked for his continued support and umpire duties and President of the club, Ivor Coren, was also thanked for his behind the scenes work raising sponsorship money and general support.
He welcomed four new players to the club and thanked Roger and the staff of the Tom Cobley for an excellent meal and service.
He also thanked secretary Jackie Coren for organising the evening and for her work throughout the year.
Vice Chair Paul Leach reported on the Cheriton Fitzpaine Tournament and, as well as several highlights, congratulated Josh Misselbrook for winning Cheriton Fitzpaine’s Player of the Tournament.
With much mulling over the quiz questions and a fun game of Irish bingo (won by birthday boy Shaun Hawkins) a very enjoyable evening was had by one and all.
