OFFWELL RANGERS 1 - SPREYTON 4

A GOOD performance away from home kept Spreyton Football Club’s unbeaten run ticking along to six leagues games.

Spreyton started brightly and were rewarded with an early goal. Chris Down’s persistence got him to the byline where a lovely dinked cross found Cam Pow to head it home.

Chances came and went for Spreyton before a surge into the box from Greg Jolly saw him brought down. Up stepped Chris Down to slide the penalty home for 2-0.

The second half started in the same vein with chances coming thick and fast. Owen Gregory replaced Cam Pow and it was Owen who skipped through before rounding the ‘keeper for a well-deserved third goal.

Offwell caused a slight panic as they pulled one back with 15 minutes to go.

Chris Down then went through before being up-ended by the Offwell ‘keeper. Even though the ‘keeper was the last man, the Spreyton bench pleaded with the ref not to issue a red card.

Ironically the ‘keeper then pulled off a cracking save from the spot.

Minutes later though Chris Down picked up an loose ball and chipped home the fourth goal.

Man of the Match for Spreyton was Adam Leat.

Spreyton are now 18 points from 18 at the start of the season. A two-week break from the League now as Spreyton have back-to-back cup games.
