SPREYTON 6 - CHAGFORD RES. 1

IN this first half of this game played on Tuesday evening (August 28) Spreyton started the game comfortably with possession with us for the majority of the half.

Chris Down was through on goal on several occasions but the linesman kept flagging offside until the 30th minute when Down skipped the offside trap to finish calmly past the ‘keeper to make it 1-0.

Ten minutes later, Marko Mc started the brace with lovely link up play for Hatch and Kinsey to battle through and slip another past the ‘keeper - 2-0 just before half-time.

Spreyton changed the tactics at half-time which freed up the space in midfield to get chance after chance and Chris Down scored his second with another striker’s finish - 3-0.

With some lovely work in midfield from Kinsey, Kinger and Marko, the ball got whipped into the box for Hatch to take it down superbly, turn the defender inside out and flip the ball in the opposite corner from a back facing position - 4-0.

Owen Gregory had the ball in the box with 10 minutes to go and placed a back heel into the feet of Marko to smash home his second with 10 minutes to go.

With minutes left on the clock, Owen was brought down in the box. Up steps Down for his hat-trick. No doubts - Down smashed home his second hat-trick in four days.

Man of the Match for Spreyton was Steve Kinsey.

A great start to the season with maximum points - 12 goals!

We go again today, Saturday, September 1, away at newcomers Seaton Reserves.
