LAPFORD Reserves played away to Sandford Reserves losing 2 - 0.

On Saturday, October 31 the Reserves will play at home in a local Derby against Witheridge Thirds with a 3pm kick-off.

There was only one match played last week in the Premier Division West albeit a re-arranged game at Crediton Reserves against Thorverton with a draw in Lapford’s favour moving them further ahead at the top of the Division plus two more dropped points for Thorverton.

Lapford First Team’s away match at Winchester was postponed, for whatever reason, of course Cowick Barton Playing Fields are with Exeter City Council, my inspection, in my view, was that it was playable, if not then it will never be this year. So I see that fixture is on for Saturday, October 31with kick-off at 3pm.

I did read in an Exeter newspaper a report by their football reporter, and I observed that Winchester were making some changes after their defeat away against Thorverton, but of course, “the proof of the pudding is in the eating.” So I am looking forward to Saturday because three years ago when we played Winchester in the first round in the Devon Senior Cup on a very wet day, Lapford won 6-1, so a repeat performance would be “the icing on the cake.”
