LAST Saturday (August 19) Lapford Football Club played the last friendly matches away to Walden AFC, Torquay, which was a good workout for both Lapford teams.

The First Eleven gained a 4-4 draw each, after Lapford were four goals down at one stage.

But the Second Eleven were victorious by winning 6-0.

For the start of the new 2017/18 season, tomorrow, Saturday, August 26, the First Eleven play at newcomers Chard Town, kick off at 3pm. It will be Lapford’s longest trip of the league season. The Seconds have no match.

The Firsts have drawn Winchester away in the Firewatch Devon Senior Cup, first round.

The Seconds will be away to Horrabridge Rangers in the first round of the A and S Paving Intermediate Devon Cup.

Horrabridge play in the Plymouth and West Devon League, so quite a long trip for the lads. Good luck to both teams in the Cups.

The first home match will be against Winchester in the league on September 3. See you all there for your support.
