THIS is the first report of the Season 2021/22 and what a start - played two, won two.

Goals for - five and goals against - one, six points in the bag and a goal difference of plus four, with second positions in the Premier Division, behind Thorverton.

The result away against Okehampton Reserves was a win by 2-0, Lapford’s goals were scored on 34 minutes and 90 minutes.

On Saturday, August 28 we were home to Lyme Regis and won by 3-1, Lapford 2-0 up at half-time scored on 14 minutes and 22 minutes. In the second half Lapford scored in the 47th minute.

Lyme Regis did manage a goal later on in the half, therefore a win for the home team of 3-1. Well done lads and still unbeaten at home.

On to tomorrow (Saturday, September 4) and the start of three away matches. The first to Kentisbeare with a 3pm kick-off.

Since becoming champions of the Premier Division in the Devon and Exeter League seven matches have been played with three friendlies away, two for the Throgmorton Cup and two league matches - seven played and seven won.

I wonder how many teams in the Premier Division are already shaking in their shoes, even in the Devon League should one by drawn against Lapford in the Devon Premier Cup.

So, once again well done lads, and to our supporters and sponsors for your support so good luck for tomorrow and as always onwards and upwards.Gerald Leach
