THIS is the first time in a while that I have reported Lapford AFC losing a match this season (number 20).

On a dry but windy day the visitors scored first in the quarter final of the Devon Premier Cup playing against the wind in the first half and going in to half-time 1-0 up.

But in the second half the hosts came out “on fire” scoring two quick goals to take the lead 2-1.

The visitors scored a goal to level and the hosts came back with another goal to go 3-2 up, but the visitors drew level towards the end of full-time to set up a penalty shoot-out.

Lapford lost on penalties by 10-9 leaving Beer Albion the winners and into the semi-finals of the Devon Premier Cup against either Exwick Villa, Alphington or North Molton, Devon League members.

This means that Lapford can put their interest to the Premier Division and the East Devon Senior Cup.

Tomorrow, Saturday, February 12 Lapford will play in a home match against Kentisbeare, after an away draw in September 2021 of 3-3.

The last time the visitors played a match at Lapford was in December 2020, with a home win of 6-1.

Let’s get back to winning again!

Onwards and upwards and good luck to all.

Many thanks to our supporters who went to Beer.
