IT was always going to be a tough cup tie for Crediton Youth FC U14s as they hosted Alphington, who were top of the division above them and unbeaten.

They put in a brave effort and were relieved to only lose out 9-0.

The U12s travelled to Exeter Panthers for their plate tie.

They came away with a 6-2 victory. Ben Edwards led the scoring with a hat-trick, and Parker Ambrosio, Joey Carpenter and Noah Pugsley were also on target for them.

Sunday saw county cup action for the U15 girls as they entertained AFC Plympton.

Despite probably edging the first half, the home side went into the break 2–1 down.

When the visitors made it 3-1, many thought the game was over. But this just spurred the Crediton girls on.

Captain Annabel Schuster made a run from well inside her own half into the opposition’s penalty box. But with just the keeper to beat, she was felled for a clear penalty.

No-one was going to stop her from taking the resulting spot kick and converting it, to put the home side back in the tie.

Two further goals from Olivia Mills saw her complete her hat-trick and clinch a 4-3 victory. Another amazing solid team performance over a very useful previously unbeaten side.

It was a busy weekend for the U11 girls side. On Saturday, they got their league cup tie against Heavitree Youth out of the way.

Two goals apiece from Esme Armitage and Halle Yelland, with further goals from Eva Rogers and Tahli Smaldon, saw the home side progress to the next round.

At home again on Sunday, they edged out Feniton with Esme Armitage grabbing another brace, and Eva Rogers also on the scoresheet again.
