CREDITON Football Club’s Youth Girls Under 11’s and Under 12’s held a friendly game against Bideford Girls, which saw a combined total of 32 girls brave the elements and have a great morning of football on the Lords Meadow Astro pitches.

Having previously made a great trip to Bideford before Christmas it was Crediton’s turn to host the Bideford girls for the return match!

Sean Hartrey, spokesman for the Girls teams said: “Our own local Lionesses played really well following several grass match postponements and they were all desperate to get some game time.

“With numerous matches played in a great spirit, but very competitive, there were some very close score lines.

“We then retired to the Clubhouse and enjoyed hot dogs, chips and beans!

“Girls football is flying since the Ladies World Cup and a lot of local girls have been inspired and with great support at Crediton Youth and from the coaches, we are developing a bunch of very strong girls who will challenge all the larger city sides!

“We are always looking to increase our squads so if your daughter is interested in playing football please come along on a Friday at 6pm at Lords Meadow Astro pitches.

“We are looking for the next Steph Houghton or Kelly Smith and already have some contenders!”
