LAST Saturday saw many Crediton Youth FC sides in league cup action.
The U14s found themselves 2-0 down at half-time away at Brixington United. After an inspirational half-time team talk they turned things around in the second period to run out 3-2 winners.
Josh Ford set them on their way, and an Archie Crosbie goal brought them back level. With three minutes remaining, Daniel Southall found the top corner of the net from 20 yards out to clinch the tie for them.
Another tight affair saw the U13s lose out 2-1 away at Hemyock Youth.
The U12s lost 2-0 in their tie away at Heavitree Youth Vikings.
Also away from home were the U11s as they travelled to Exmouth Town Buoys. They eased through to the next round with Ben Whelan, Charley Hiscock, Freddie Rose, Harry Shepherd, Oliver Novack and Tom Finney all amongst the goals.
Both the U10 sides went out after home ties. The Pumas lost out to Brixington Blues and Panthers went out after extra time to Rockbeare Rockets.
The U9 Pumas progressed against West Hill Wasps, but the Panthers lost out in their tie to Broadclyst Tigers.
It was a busy Sunday morning down at Lords Meadow with every pitch in use.
The U15 girls took on Sidmouth Town Panthers and came out 4-2 winners. Olivia Mills getting a hat-trick and Phoebe Chammings with a superb long-range effort sealing another fine team performance from them.
It was always going to be a tough challenge for the U13 Blues girls as they took on an exceedingly strong Twyford Spartans side and went down to a heavy defeat.
Not very often do you get a goalless draw in youth football, but that was the final score as the U11 girls hosted Heavitree Youth in what was described as a thoroughly entertaining stalemate.
On mini pitches were the U7 boys as they hosted sides from Cullompton.
Away from home the U13 Youth girls lost out 3-1 away at Axminster.
On the road again were the U9 girls as they travelled to Watcombe Wanderers. They lost their first game to Youth side, but ran out winners against the Lionesses with Amelia Holland getting both their goals. Octavia Abbott took the player of the day award.
It was a tough County cup tie for the U18s as they were draw away against Buckland Athletic. They eventually lost out 6-0, but felt the scoreline did not reflect their performance.
