CREDITON United Football Club “Chris Gillard Day” will take place at the club’s Lords Meadow ground, tomorrow, Saturday, September 2.

Chris recently reached the amazing milestone of 50 years’ continued service as a committee member of Crediton United FC and the club is celebrating this on the day of a home game against Bovey Tracey.

The clubhouse will be open from 12.30pm, with the match kicking off at 3pm.

In April Chris was presented with an award for his service to the youth side of the club and was one of the first people attributed to forming a youth football team in the town.

Players from the Under 11’s Galaxy, 14’s and 15’s also formed a guard of honour and clapped Chris onto the field before the games that day.

Entry to tomorrow’s match will be free but donations will be accepted. The barbecue will run throughout the day (weather permitting) and all are welcome to attend to make it a memorable day for the club and for Chris.

In order that the club has an idea of how many to cater for, anyone wishing to go along is asked to please telephone or text Steve Grinney, club treasurer, on 07887 888 792 or email: [email protected] to confirm they are able to attend.
