A VERY successful and enjoyable school year of After School badminton lessons ended recently at Sandford School
The sessions are run by Sharon Hawkins who is in her 14th year of working in schools in the local community. She was ably assisted by Parabadminton player Dee Weiner and Devon County junior players Ben Hussey and Toby Brookes
“This year the children have been working within an awards system which enables them to have a structured approach to learning the sport,” explained Sharon.
“Sandford has always been the most successful school in the Crediton community as far as badminton is concerned and if the enthusiasm of the current bunch of players is anything to go by, the future of badminton in the area looks very promising indeed.”
The “best boy” award was awarded to Alfie Butterfield and the “ best girl” award was received by Isabel Taylor. The most awarded stickers throughout the year went to Henry King.
