SPREYTON 8 - AMORY GREEN ROVERS 2

SPREYTON v Amory looked set to be a close encounter when they played at Bradninch FC on April 12 but within five minutes Baker won the ball on the right-hand side and put Chris Down through on goal to make it Spreyton 1-0.

Ten minutes in and Amory got back into it with a lovely composed finish to make it 1-1. Twenty minutes later Chris Down found himself through on goal again and was brought down in the box for a Spreyton penalty.

Down stepped up straight in the bottom left-hand corner to make it 2-1 to Spreyton.

Ten minutes later Liam Ward put Cameron Pow in and to be honest no-one was stopping Cameron!

Boom 3-1 before half-time. Right before half-time Spreyton were awarded another penalty and up stepped Chris Down who hit the post. It came back to Chris to put in but it was disallowed.

The second half was a tougher contest than the score shows and 50 minutes in Chris Down was again free to make it 4-1. On stepped Lee Watkins to make his Spreyton debut!

Within 10 minutes Lee was through on goal to make it 5-1! Chris Down, yet again, five minutes later was left alone in the box to finish his fourth of the night!

On stepped Greg Jolly and Luke Herbert to see the game out. It was a shakey 10 minutes with an Amory goal sneaking in to make it 6-2.

Greg Jolly made up from the mistake with a cross that troubled the ‘keeper and made it 7-2 with his first goal for the club.

With five minutes to go Greg completed his first brace for the club with a calm finish within 10 yards to bring the final score to 8-2.

Man of the match for Spreyton was Chris Down.
