THE heavy rain early in the week, did its best to disrupt the final week of the league season for Crediton Youth FC sides, with many early midweek fixtures being postponed.
Wednesday evening (May 10) saw fixtures resume with the U15s getting the better of Whipton Youth at Lords Meadow.
Two goals from Ben Betts gave them a 2-1 win, but a late penalty save and another outstanding save from the rebound by his brother Joe, saw them over the line.
Thursday night saw two big games at Lords Meadow.
The U14s put in a convincing performance against Central Hawks which ensured the runners-up spot for them.
Goals from Alex Crosbie, Daniel Burgess, Oliver Baker and a Zach Mildon brace saw them ease to a 5-1 victory.
It was a tight affair for the U13s who hosted Stoke Hill.
Goals from Jake Stagg and Seb Roche put them in front, but a very determined Stoke Hill side battled back to bring things level, and despite dominating possession the home side had to settle for a point.
There was bright sunshine at Lords Meadow for the final Saturday of the league season, and another fine morning of football.
The U15s signed off for the season against West Hill Wasps on the main pitch.
Two goals apiece from Ben Betts, Ben Khastar-Smith and Jack Brimilcombe and further goals from Alfie Chard and Charlie Cookson saw them move up to second place. But they must now wait to see how the remaining fixtures pan out.
It was a great end to the U11s season as they took on Sidmouth Town Warriors.
Josh Stansfield gave them an early lead but it took two, second half goals from Harry Broome to finally seal the result.
Full marks to the visitors who played their part in a cracking game of football.
The U8s hosted two sides from Broadclyst Youth. It was two draws and two defeats for them.
Away from home the U16s were edged out 2-1 by Exmouth United. Owen Jones again on target for them.
The U14s concluded their excellent season with a 6-1 win away at West Exe Youth Wolves.
Harry Norman led the goal scoring with a hat-trick, and further goals from Ben Fantham, George Blackburn and Jayden Friend saw them finish in style.
Back to winning ways for the U13s as they came away from Lympstone with a 4–1 victory.
Goals from Jake Shepherd, Jake Stagg, Joseph Walter and Seb Roche saw them keep their title hopes on track.
The U10s returned from Stoke Hill with two wins and two draws to end their league campaign. Amongst their goal scorers were Finn Moore, Jacob Sweeney, Radu Mototolea and Will Manns.
The U10 Girls had a fine morning as they headed west to take on Hatherleigh in a friendly.
The Creddy girls continued their impressive form and again did not disappoint.
Special mention must go to Flo Sandover and Flora Corthorn on getting their first ever goals.
They now start to turn their attention to the summer tournaments.
Sunday saw the U14 finally conclude their autumn league fixtures, with an away fixture against Central Youth Wild Cats.
It was a convincing win for them, which also saw them finish a very credible third in the league.
Amy Lockyer led the goal scoring with Amelia Duffin, Anastasiia Norsyk, Evie Lewis and Ruby Turner also scoring goals.
