THE Seniors at Downes Crediton Golf Club played their August Medal on Monday, August 11. Div i s i o n One and overall winner was Peter Russell who scored an 80 gross nett 68 and Laurence Taylor finished in second place with a nett 70. Division Two winner was Peter Bryan with a nett 69 and in second place was George Crab with a nett 72. James Davis, scoring 41 points, was the winner of the Midweek Stableford played on Wednesday, August 13. In second place was Jason Arnold with 39 points. With only three weeks to go, the Mid-Week Order of Merit is getting exciting as it nears the end of season play-offs. The Ladies held their EWGA Medal 15 on Thursday, August 16 which saw Stacey Ford win with a 78 gross nett 71. In second place was Betty Willey with a nett 77. The club staged a flag competition on Saturday, August 16 where the winner has to move the flag as far around the course using shots in-hand after completing a medal round. The overall winner was Robin Tooze whose nett 66 meant he progressed the flag to within three inches of the first hole. Division One winner was Oliver Greenslade with a nett 68, winning on a better back nine from Dave Woodstock (68). The Division Two win went to Brian Kelly, also with a nett 68, beating Barrie Phillips into second place (68). A net t 66 by Robi n Tooze saw him win Division Three by five shots over Peter Huda (71). DG
