THE Norman Sutton Memorial Open was played at Downes Crediton Golf Club on Saturday, August 31.

Winners, with a score 126 (-14) were Ron Berry, Colin Ray, Rob Dobson and Peter Russell. In second place with a score of 129 (-11) was John Sweeney, Tony Rowe, Chris Parker and Peter Huda.

Crediton held the Junior East Devon League Porsche Invitational on September 1. The winner with a score of 40 points was Jay Scott from Tiverton, best female, also from Tiverton, was Megan Deans and the junior organiser's prize went to Judy Murray.

The Seniors' played their September medal on September 2 and winning in Division One, with a score of nett 66, was Paul Ezard.

In Division Two and overall winner, also with a score of 66, was Andrew Chandler.

The ladies held their autumn meeting on Thursday, September 5. Winning the Silver Division was Fran Shrubsole with a nett 69. Bronze One was won by Betty Willey with 75 and in Bronze Two, also with a nett 75, was Ruth Ford.

Last Saturday saw the Jordan Cup and September Monthly Medal played. The scratch winner with a score of 71 was Kevin Cole, the overall net and Division One winner, with a nett 61, was Bob Pym.

Division Two winner was Daniel Hawke with nett 63 and Division Three was won by Clive Elliott with nett 64. The Jordan Cup Winner was Andy Frankum with nett 68.

DCGC's Dartmoor League team played Boringdon Park in their final match on Sunday, September 8.

They knew that a win would win them the league but also for the first time in Dartmoor league history they would be the only team to be unbeaten for the whole year.

Congratulations go to Downes, who beat Boringdon 3½ to 1½, a great achievement.
