MONDAY, July 1 saw the Seniors at Downes Crediton Golf Club play a Roll Up Stableford.

Coming out on top with 38 points and winning on countback was Tom Berry, in second also with 38 points was Bob Skuse. In third place also with 38 points just losing out on countback was John Hooper.

The midweek Stableford was played on Wednesday, July 3 and saw three players shoot fantastic 40 points. Winning on countback was Matt Arnold, 2 Mark Tarrant, 3 Jeremy Harris.

The first Ladies Open was played on Thursday, July 4 and the winners with a score of 79 points from Okehampton GC were Penny Deakin, Lyn Atkinson and Mary Keir. In second with 75 points from Downes were Sharon Leach, Fran Shrubsole and Linda Gill.

The Hazeldon Memorial Trophy and July Medal was played on Saturday, July 6 and saw Oliver Greenslade return to good form by winning the scratch prize and Division One by shooting gross 74 nett 69.

Stephen Hooper scored a fantastic nett 61 to take Division Two and the overall prize.

Division Three was won by Bob Dobson with nett 67.

Downes players were in action on Sunday, July 7 in the DCGU Palariet Memorial third round against defending Champions Torquay GC at Yelverton GC.

Unfortunately the team lost four and ½ to a ½. A great effort by all involved, better luck next year!
