AFTER three rounds of the 2026 Sandford Cricket Club Community League program, only Crediton Milling remain undefeated.

In the latest round of matches, two games were very one-sided and the other saw two undefeated teams play each other.

Firstly the Three Little Pigs smashed their way to 190 for five in their 20 overs against Graphic, with Dan Yendell 25, Alex Stevens 26, Bailey Carbines 25, Aiden Mason 28, and Josh Davey 27 all having to retire, as the floodgates opened.

For Graphic, skipper Sam Dyne and A.Fillis managed to pick up a couple wickets each amongst the carnage.

Graphic never stood much chance in chasing down the total as the Pigs bowling restricted them to 139 for 8 in their 20 overs. Henry Field 26 and Lewis Copp 27 were the only batters who managed to retire, as Ollie Avery-Wright and Joe Rees both took a couple of wickets to ensure the Pigs won by 51 runs.

The next game saw the Rugby Club rattle up a record 195 for eight against a depleted Sandford Development XI. Unfortunately with two other games on on the same night, the Development XI had to call in a few older heads to make up the eleven, but the Rugby Club batters showed no mercy, and went ballistic with retirements coming from John Leyman 36no, Elliott Butterfield 46 no (both allowed back in following earlier retirements), Ollie Harris 25 and his Dad Jay Harris batting at no.11 with 29.

In amongst the carnage the Sandford fielders took a number of good catches, with some decent bowling from Leo Gard, veteran Adrian Partridge and Zack Davey all taking two wickets each.

In reply Will Street 26, Adrian Partridge 26 and skipper Tom Harding 27 did their best to get anywhere near their target, but once they had to retire, the rest of the order could not keep up with the required run rate, and when the overs ran out the Development XI were way short on 135 for five to lose by 60 runs.

The last game was the best of the round with Crediton Milling eventually overpowering Sandford Football Club by six wickets.

The Football Club struggled to 130 for six from their 20 overs, with Steve Lyon 26 and Andy Uren 27 having to retire.

The Millmen then played intelligently on their way to 133 for four, with Will White 26, Jake Power 25 and Rob Machin 25 seeing their team home with over two overs remaining to remain undefeated.

Brad Elliott managed to take a couple of wickets to try and stave off defeat.

Unfortunately a serious injury to Tudor Morgan-Huggett spoiled the evening, but having been discharged from hospital the same night, hopefully his recovery will be quick. Sandford Cricket Club wish him all the very best, and we look forward to seeing him back in one of the Sandford teams as soon as possible.
