A NEW North Devon football club is to get help towards upgrading its pavilion.

North Devon Council (NDC) will pay just more than £13,600 to help Georgeham Parish Council refurbish the building at the village’s playing field, upgrading its changing rooms, toilets and patio.

Georgeham playing field, near Croyde, is used by several groups in the community including Georgeham Primary School and the newly formed Croyde and Georgeham Rovers Football Club, which approached the parish council to ask to use the grounds as its practice field.

The redevelopment will cost more than £80,000, with the remaining money coming from match funding.

NDC’s grant will come from funds from developers through section 106 contributions.
