OLYMPIC gold medallist, James Cracknell OBE, was in Exeter City Centre recently to raise awareness of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) being a chosen charity of Exeter’s Great West Run.
James led a pack of runners and supporters of the charity through a small race through the City Centre, before crossing an inflatable “Finish Line” in Princesshay.
The event was to raise awareness of CHSW involvement in the Great West Run and to encourage runners to either take a charity place or choose to run in support of the charity.
The running group were met in Princesshay by supporters and families helped by the charity.
Exeter’s Great West Run takes place on Sunday, October 15 and the charity has free running places available in return for sponsorship.
Monies raised from the event will help to continue the charity’s care and support to local life-limited children and their families.
Little Bridge House, in North Devon, provides a home-from-home for families going through unimaginable circumstances. Its range of care is provided free-of-charge and includes family respite breaks, palliative care, emergency stays, end-of-life care and bereavement support.
If you would like to secure one of the free CHSW charity places, please email: [email protected] or telephone 01271 325270.
