THE first four months of 2026 have been very successful for members of Crediton and District Swimming Club.

In January were the Devon County Championships at the Plymouth Life Centre with members Sofia and Ruby competing.

Ruby competed in the 50 metres backstroke and achieved a personal best time of 42.57, knocking an incredible four seconds off her entry time to make it into the final and broke her personal best again with a time of 42.21.

Ruby competed in the 50 metres freestyle where she achieved another personal best of 35.19, knocking five seconds off her entry time, where she broke it again in the final with a time of 34.64 to finish sixth overall.

Sofia swam in the 50 butterfly, where she also broke her personal best time by four seconds to swim a time of 40.51 to finish 10th overall.

In February, Sara and Rianna competed at the Royal Navy Masters Championships, held at Millfield Pool.

Sara was busy competing in six events, which were the 100 metres butterfly where she finished fifth, 50 metres freestyle where she finished fourth, 100 metres individual medley where she finished seventh, 200 metres backstroke where she won the gold, 200 individual medley where she dropped three seconds off her entry time, with a position of fourth and finally 50 metre backstroke with a position of fourth.

Rianna competed in four events, where she swan 50 metres freestyle where she finished ninth, 50 metre butterfly, where she finished fifth, 100 metre freestyle where she finished fourth and finally she swam the 200 individual medley where she dropped three seconds from her entry time and finished second.

In March, Sara travelled to Bodmin Dragon Leisure Centre where she competed in the Cornish Masters Championships, where she won three golds in the 50 metre butterfly, 100 metre breaststroke and 100 backstroke.

On Saturday, April 11, nine swimmers competed at The Okehampton Easter Meet, at Parklands Leisure Centre, where there were 125 swimmers from eight clubs from Devon and Cornwall.

The swimmers won the following: Ruby one gold, one silver and one bronze; Finnlay one gold, two bronzes; Archie one gold, two bronzes; Sofia four silvers; Tilly one silver, one bronze; Isla one silver; Alfie one silver.

Sara swam the following day at Gloucester Masters where she swam 100 metres backstroke, 200 metres breaststroke and 200 metres freestyle, where she won silvers in all three.
