POLICE Sergeant Dave MacFadden, the Neighbourhood Team Leader for Crediton and Cullompton poses this question: “Would you know what to do in a roadside emergency?”

He explains that one in five newly qualified drivers crash within the first six months of passing their test.

He says that this is one reason to make sure that you are prepared for an emergency situation!

He explained that “Learn2Live” have developed a mobile telephone app that is FREE for anyone to download to their smartphone.

The App provides information about what to do first, basic emergency first aid and important information the emergency services will want from you.

The PANIC app is designed to help you in the first few moments if you are involved in a car crash.

P: protect yourself, A: access the scene, N: number of casualties, I: injuries, C: call for help.

The app also includes some other useful features including ICE (In Case of Emergency) details, an area that stores your medical details along with emergency contact details should you be the person that is injured.
