THERE was an excellent turn-out when Crediton and District u3a hosted a presentation by Greg Martin entitled: “The Viking Invasion of the South West 875 - 1001 AD” on Wednesday, January 19.

Greg took along a range of Viking items including shields, swords and axes.

His talk focused mainly on Alfred the Great when he chased warlord Guthrum, leader of a Danish invasion, from Wareham to Cambridge and then to Exeter.

On Wednesday, February 16, the u3a Crediton and District speaker will be Colin Andrews with the History of Morris Dancing.
