IN a powerful display of unity and shared purpose, Crediton Town Council is proud to announce that the United Nations (UN) flag is being flown on the flagpole at the War Memorial.

The Council said: “This act symbolises our commitment to the principles of international cooperation, peace, and human rights for all.

“By flying the UN flag, we recognise the vital role the UN plays in addressing global challenges, from climate change to poverty alleviation, and in championing equality and justice worldwide.

“It also reflects our belief that collective effort and mutual respect are key to building a better future for our community.”

Town Clerk, Rachel Avery, said: “Crediton Town Council’s decision to fly the United Nations flag signifies support for global peace and to act locally in alignment with these ideals.”

It will fly until July 28.
