A TROBRIDGE man has grown giant sunflowers in his garden again for his twin granddaughters.

Green-fingered Adrian Iles told the Courier the flowers are currently eight feet (around 2.4 metres) tall and still growing.

Sky and Sienna, who are both nine years old, are very pleased with them.

Last year, the sunflowers grew to seven feet (around 2.1 metres) tall, and the year before eight feet and eight inches (around 2.6 metres) tall.

“Their great-grandmother plants them each year,” Mr Iles said.

“Then I put them in the garden and water them.”

Mr Iles also grows giant pumpkins, which won him and his granddaughters a prize at the Tedburn St Mary Fair last year.
