THE Trustees of Crediton’s Queen Elizabeth’s School are pleased to announce that, together with the Principal, they are considering working in a partnership within a Multi Academy Trust (MAT).

The Principal and Chair of Trustees, Gemma Poulton, wrote to Parents and Carers earlier this week explaining that details of the consultation and decision-making process would be announced in the coming weeks.

Nine years ago, QE made the transition to a Single Academy Trust.

Throughout that time, Trustees and school staff have been working hard to ensure the best possible education for all current and future pupils at QE.

Part of that work has involved considering options for further development of the school.

Trustees of the school voted in July to engage with the Ted Wragg MAT, which consists of 11 schools, mainly in Exeter, as a potential future partner.

Rupert Poole, QE Principal, said that importantly for Trustees, the Ted Wragg MAT has a proven track record of school improvement as well as being a MAT that celebrates the diversity of the schools and is values driven and child centred.

He added: “Joining a well-established MAT offers QE the opportunity to join a group of schools committed to school improvement.

“School leaders will work together to share best practice and learn from each other, as well as from other external networks and partnerships.

“Trustees believe that joining the Ted Wragg MAT will support the school and build on the progress made in recent years.

“The increased capacity that working within a MAT will bring will help improve educational outcomes and furthermore Trustees believe working within a MAT is the best way to secure potentially significant investment in the school buildings.”

The Ted Wragg Multi Academy Trust was established in 2010. Details of the Trust can be found on the website: https://www.tedwraggtrust.co.uk/ .
