A GREAT afternoon of discussion was had at the East Town Café in East Street, Crediton on Saturday, February 11, at the Pop Up Death Café Devon, with Nixie James-Scott a One Spirit Interfaith Minister and Home Funeral Guide.

A total of 15 people shared their thoughts and experiences while enjoying coffee and tea.

Nixie told the “Courier”: “It wasn’t at all morbid and there was even a lot of laughter.

“Topics covered included Advanced Care Planning, Dignity in Dying, funeral choices and possibilities and one person commented that it was helpful to talk to strangers about their End of Life choices where their family didn’t want to talk about it.”

She added: “There was an amazing painted coffin that Andrew Vaccari had made and brought along.

“Amongst the attendees was the owner of Beer Cross Woodland Burial Ground at Morchard Bishop. Hopefully Lucy Betts will hold another Death Café in her lovely friendly café, it certainly was ’food for thought’!”
