CREDITON and District Lions Club’s charity firewalk is now scheduled to take place in March.
It was originally due to happen in October but was postponed twice due to inclement weather.
Brave souls will walk over the hot coals in Crediton Town Square from 7pm on Saturday, March 28.
It will be the second time the event has been held. The first, in 2024, raised more than £5,000.
You must be at least 14 years old to take part. Scott Bell of UK Firewalk, which is running the event, will provide training beforehand on the day.
Entry costs £25 and participants must raise a minimum of £125 in sponsorship pledges.
“It is going to be a fun, family-friendly evening and we can’t wait to see you all there for some fiery fun,” said a spokesperson.
“Crediton Lions Club are challenging you to bring your mind and body together with a walk on fire.
“Prepare to be amazed as you witness the incredible power of the human mind and the ability to overcome obstacles.
“Get ready to challenge your limits and conquer your fears as you walk across a bed of hot coals.
“This thrilling experience is not far off and Crediton Lions Club thank you in advance for your support in helping fund our core challenges.
“This walk is not for the faint hearted, so there is a minimum sponsorship target of £125.
“Of course, if want to set your target higher and think you can smash it, please do. Last [time] the record was over £900. There will be a prize for the highest individual sponsorship achieved.
“Certificates will be provided on completion of the walk. Specially prepared t-shirts at a cost of £10 are also available, or free if you raise over £150 including the registration fee.”
