DEVON County Council is to take action about the incidences of flooding on Higher Road, from Upper Deck to Forches Cross.
Local resident Mike Snow wrote to Devon County Council, Sandford Parish Council and others about the flooding issue which, he said, has been occurring along the stretch of road for about two years.

Mr Snow attached images of vehicles travelling through the floods and of the ditch alongside which he suggested needs clearing.
He wrote: “I have seen cars stopping and turning around to avoid going through this. It makes the brakes wet and liable to put grit on the brake disks.

“There are no warning signs of floods and in the dark is a dangerous hazard. Please can you prioritise this and I hope that no severe accidents are caused before you make this safe.”
Devon County Council confirmed: “The site has been issued for jetting which is likely to take place next Monday as we are having to concentrate on the primary gritting network with our limited resources.”
