THE third Charity Car Show held in the car park at Crediton’s Tesco store at Wellparks on Sunday, April 2, proved to be another success all round with an increase in the number of cars, spectators and raised what has been described as “a fantastic £1,616.69” for the charities the event supported.

More than 300 cars from across the South West attended the event with a vast array of vehicles of all styles, ages, sizes and cost.

Lavish Life, the Car Club that co-hosted the event with Tesco took along nearly 100 cars.

As well as all of the Car Clubs attending there was a significant rise in non-car club members attending.

Crediton Fire and Rescue attended with a fire appliance and Devon and Cornwall Police officers Lisa Crocker and Dave Waring also attended.

Crediton Army Cadets provided extra stewards for the evening and both Lavish Life and Tesco thank them for their tremendous effort and the time that they willingly put in to help out.

Profits from this year’s Show will go to Help for Heroes, Diabetes UK and British Heart Foundation. Last year more than £2,500 was raised for charity, as well as providing virtually all of the funding for Crediton Town Council to purchase a defibrillator for the Town Square.

Due to the date of the event it was dubbed the "April Fuels Day Show".

Andrew Drayton, Crediton Tesco community champion, thanked Lavish Life, the stewards, trade stands, food and drink vendors and Army Cadets for their help in staging the event.
