AN informal recital to include pieces by Gershwin, Debussy and Heath will take place at Holmefield, Lapford (EX17 6AF) on Saturday August 20, to raise funds for the Turning Tides Project.

Entitled “Summer Rhapsody” the event will run from 2pm to 5.30pm and will feature Jane Williams and Peter Adcock on saxophone/clarinet and piano.

Tickets are priced at £5, which includes a drink on arrival. There will be cream teas, a chance to have a leisurely walk around the woodland trail, craft and produce stalls and a silent auction.

A competition for the best Ascot-style hat will also feature.

The Turning Tides Project, is a non-profit company which aims to make equal access to music, the arts and life a reality for people with people with learning disability and autism labels.

Based in Crediton, The Turning Tides Project run community sessions. These include music sessions, a monthly Pub Jam and evenings out. These sessions are open and inclusive.
