QUEEN Elizabeth’s School (QE) in Crediton was bustling on August 21 as students and their families went along to collect their GCSE results.
The school, which is part of the Ted Wragg Trust, has a rich and proud history serving Crediton and the surrounding villages since 1547.

QE is an ambitious school dedicated to providing students with an excellent education that develops their knowledge, character, contribution and wisdom.
This year students at QE are celebrating a strong set of GCSE results, with a fantastic 74% of students achieving a 4+ in English and 75% of students achieving 4+ in Maths.
For students experiencing disadvantage, there was a fantastic 14% increase in those students being awarded a 5+ in both Maths and English.

Jemima Cornelius is staying on to study Art, Psychology and Outdoor Education in QE’s Sixth Form and said one of the things she enjoyed most during her time at QE was the after-school surf club.
Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Further Maths are Poppy Mitchell’s chosen Sixth Form subjects. She feels socialising with friends and the chance to get to know different people during the GCSE years are some of her best memories of QE so far.

Tommy Murch is proud of the winning run his team enjoyed in the Rugby Sevens tournament during Year 9.
His Sixth Form journey sees him studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Product Design.
Exeter College is the destination for Zac Mildon – BTEC Sport, Hayden Vooght – Uniform Public Services, George Blackburn – BTEC Sport, and Hayden Leach – Bricklaying Course.

Zeph Corthorn will continue with Maths, Music, Chemistry and Physics in Sixth Form. He particularly enjoyed taking part in Ten Tors and the Jazz Band trip to Italy.
Toma Radulescu also appreciated the Jazz Band trip to Italy as well as the opportunity to undertake the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
He plans to study Maths, Chemistry, Biology and History in Sixth Form.
Isabelle Gard is another student taking advantage of all that QE’s Sixth Form has to offer. Biology, Psychology, English Literature and Drama are her courses of choice.
Isabelle said the best thing about QE was the very supportive teachers.
Students' experience at school encompasses much more than just academic results and this year, QE students have enjoyed a wide array of activities and experiences, encouraging exploration of new interests and skills.
Year 10 student, Ellie, recently graduated from the Junior Chef Academy with a celebration at Lympstone Manor hosted by Michael Caines.
Year 11 and 12 students gained insight into diagnostic radiography through a special careers talk by the NHS Outreach Team and renowned author and spoken word artist Steven Camden delivered an inspiring assembly to Year 9 students on creative writing.
