FOR the months of June and July, a local woman is raising money for three organisations that are very important to her.
Steph Fidock, who works in Crediton’s Tesco store at Wellparks, is aiming to walk 10,000 steps per day, every day, for these months, or the equivalent of five miles.
Steph explained: “That’s over half a million steps in 61 days!”
She added: “I am doing this not only to raise money, but also to set myself this as a personal challenge after my accident and subsequent surgeries in the last couple of years.
“The first of the three organisations I will be supporting is the Devon Air Ambulance.
“I am doing this as a result of a family member suffering a near fatal Cardiac arrest last year. The Air Ambulance provided much needed support to the ambulance crew and arrived on scene within 10 minutes of the call being made (which saved his life), which I will be forever grateful for.
“The second is Mind UK. I have lost far too many people to mental health and would like to do anything I can to help them support as many people as possible.
“The third is Crediton Hospital. I have had many appointments at this hospital as a result of my injuries, and they have been nothing but helpful, friendly and supportive so would personally like to thank them. The money raised will also be able to help them to continue to serve the community.”
Steph said that her target is £1,000, but added that any amount raised will be a great achievement, and anything above that would be incredible!
She continued: “All money will be divided evenly between the three.
“Any support will be so much appreciated.
