CREDITON Methodist Church service on the web on Sunday, May 3, was titled “Abundant Life” and the reading was “Jesus the Good Shepherd” who said: “I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly”.

During the week families had been challenged to build something depicting sheep and photos were shown of various sheep, sheep folds and even biscuits in the shape of sheep. Rev Varker spoke to one family who had made a sheep pen and the children spoke about this.

Rev Ann Varker explained that an abundant life is a life of love, of generosity and of prayer and that God is with us at all times.

As the church is unable to offer youth work on church premises, it has been decided to offer a Visual Youth Café each week, using Google meet facility.

It is hoped this will enable our youth leaders to maintain a sense of community for the young people, enabling them to “meet up”, share conversations and join in activities.

Separate sessions for younger and older groups – school years 6 – 8 will be held on Mondays from 4pm to 5pm and for school years 9 – 13 on Wednesday evenings from 7pm – 8pm. Young people accessing the visual café need to ask parents to complete and return a registration form which is available from Jane or Leigh our Youth Workers at email: [email protected] or telephone 07454 907207.

For younger children there will be Messy Church online, organised by Christians Together in Crediton, on Sunday, May 10 from 4pm. There will be the usual mix of singing, story and craft although you will need to arrange your own meal to conclude the afternoon. If you would like to join, contact Rev Ann Varker on 01363 777308.
