FROM this Saturday you will be able to pick up a new product at Oliver's Bakery in Crediton High Street and support the 1st Crediton Scout Group.
Daniel Richards and Sam Reed were winners of the Great Crediton Bake Off at this year's Food and Drink Festival in the Town Square.
Their Banana and Chocolate Chip Muffins were voted top entry with second place going to the Cheese and Basil Ammonites from Peter and John Turner.
All four entrants took part in a baking masterclass at Oliver's Bakery and tried their hand at shaping rolls, plaiting loaves and decorating cup cakes.
They also made their winning recipe and learnt about how to cost their new product.
For those of you who want to make Banana and Chocolate Muffins at home here is the winning recipe:
Mash up three very ripe bananas. Beat together 125ml of vegetable oil with two eggs. Mix everything up with 250g of plain flour, 100g of caster sugar, half a tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda, one tablespoon of baking powder and 100g of chocolate chips.
Drop the mixture into 12 muffin cases and bake at about 180°C for about 25 minutes until brown and firm. Take out, cool and decorate to taste.
