JACK Crooke (88), the Rotary Club of Crediton's oldest member and local farmer who in the past was known for holding popular barn dances at the farm has been presented with Rotary's Service Recognition Award by Sylvia Seage, president.

The award is in recognition of long standing service to the community and in receiving the certificate Jack recounted that when he first joined Rotary in 1981 they used to meet in the Gentleman's Club with lunch brought across the road from the cafe opposite.
