THE principal of Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crediton, Rupert Poole, has issued the following statement: “Due to the Met Office Amber Warning and recent updates indicating that widespread snow is expected to develop through Thursday with 10-20 cm likely to fall quite widely and the fact that the warning has been updated to reflect the growing confidence of a severe spell of weather, I have taken the decision to close the school tomorrow, Thursday, March 1.
“I hope that by taking the decision as early as possible this will assist parents in making the necessary arrangements and I apologise for the inconvenience this may cause you.”
In addition, the Courier has received a report that Winkleigh Primary School will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, March 1.
