THE weather tried to put a damper on Crediton branch of Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) Fundraising Group Summer Fete, but occasional showers did not deter the public going along and making it a huge success.
There were many stalls and games and delicious cream teas sold well.
Glenn Bearne, spokesperson for the charity, told the "Courier": "We are especially grateful to Paul and Marion Evans for allowing the group to hold the fete in their beautiful garden at Shirley House, Copplestone.
"We also like to thank all those who lent us tables, chairs and gazebos and our ELF helpers and volunteers for all their hard work in setting up and running the stalls.
"Thanks also to local businesses who donated prizes and of course to our friends from Copplestone Community Choir for entertaining everyone, once again, with their varied and entertaining programme.
"The amount raised was £2,100 - a fantastic total.
"A big THANK YOU to all the people who turned up, despite the uncertain weather forecast and spent money to raise this fantastic amount - we really appreciate your support."
