AFTER a successful first year at Westpoint Arena, near Exeter, the sizeable real ice rink has returned to the venue.

The festive attraction opened at Westpoint on Thursday, December 11 and will be there until Sunday, January 4.

There’s space for up to 400 skaters in each 45-minute skate session on the ice, with various session types throughout the day.

There’s lots of different skate sessions available for all to enjoy this Christmas.

These include Parent Toddler sessions where Under 5s skate for free with an adult ticket, pushchairs are allowed on the ice (for this session only) and the friendly

mascot Pippen the Penguin might even make an appearance.

Quiet sessions are perfect for those skaters who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere, with reduced capacity on the ice and no music or flashing lights.

The Popular Disco Sessions are back on selected Friday evenings for adult ticket holders only and there is also a chance to grab a deal with 2-4-1 ticket offers on selected Thursdays.

Icescape operate the ice rink and are one of the largest providers of temporary real ice rinks in the UK.

Jamie Dann, Icescape Operations Director, said: “It is great to bring the ice rink back to Westpoint Arena. It was so nice last year to see the people of Devon embrace our event and so many skaters enjoying the ice.”

Westpoint Arena is the largest indoor arena in the South West and with the return of the real ice rink it is the ultimate festive destination for friends and families this winter.

Icescape Westpoint is set within easy reach of Exeter and there is ample free parking available.

The venue is closed on Christmas Day.
