PLANS to realign the highway in Marsh Lane, Crediton to remove the “kink” in the road adjacent to Kirton Kayaks, have moved a step closer.

Devon County Council has advised of an upcoming planned road closure of Marsh Lane from 7.30am to 5pm for approximately five days, beginning on Monday, May 17.

The works are subject to landowner agreements and Mid Devon Highways and Transport Orders Committee (HATOC) approval.

South West Highways will be the contractor for the works and Devon County Council say access will be maintained to local businesses during the closure.

Road closure periods will be reduced, where possible, and two-way traffic lights used instead.
