A COUNTRY and western clothes shop in Crediton is seeking a licence to sell alcohol.

Gareth Thomas of Silverbelly Western on North Street wants to supply American lagers Lone Star Beer and Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) between 11am and 5pm Monday to Saturday and 11.30am and 4.30pm on Sundays.

The Texas-based drinks would only be for sale in bottles or cans for consumption off the premises.

“We would like to supply two very specific American lagers (Lone Star and PBR) which we already import from the USA for our other business (can provide licence number on request),” said Mr Thomas.

“The two American beers fit our lifestyle brand and would be part of our coolers and festival apparel section which will be stocked and located on the ground floor.

“We have no intention of selling other alcoholic drinks and would only supply these two lagers on an off-licence basis for removal from the premises.”
