NORTH Creedy Choral Society, a small choral society based in Crediton that welcomes singers of all ages and abilities, will see its Autumn term of rehearsals start on Monday, September 14.

The choir mostly sings well-known choral favourites in concerts supported by instrumental musicians and semi or professional soloists. There are no auditions and musical scores are provided.

Rehearsals are held each Monday evening from 7.30pm to 9pm in the Boniface Centre in Crediton, apart from every second Monday, when they will be in the Lady Chapel of Crediton Parish Church.

On September 14 it will take place in the Lady Chapel.

The Society’s Christmas Concert will take place on December 19 and will feature Ralph Vaughan Williams’ ‘Fantasia on Christmas Carols’, and two of his ‘Five Mystical Songs’.

In addition there will be two sacred cantatas by the Danish 17th century composer Dietrich Buxtehude, and Eric Whitacre’s ‘The Seal Lullaby’, together with a selection of seasonal carols and readings.
