AT Tuesday's meeting councillors heard that there had been suggestions in the town that there should be permanent memorials to Lance Corporal Jamie Fleming who had been killed in a motorcycle accident in 2014 and to 10 years old Samuel Crocker who died following a road accident in Crediton earlier this year.

Town clerk, Mrs Clare Dalley, reported that she would be meeting with the Scouts to discuss a memorial for Samuel.

The town council fully supported the idea and agreed the council could contribute towards the cost.

Cllr John Downes suggested that the appropriate places would be the war memorial for Jamie and the Scout Memorial Garden on Peoples Park for Samuel.
