WITH so few members of the public present, most of the audience of about a dozen people were county, district or parish councillors, and with praise for the work of Crediton Police, it was thought that people in the Crediton area were satisfied with local policing.

At the meeting in Crediton of Mid Devon Police Authority Liaison, chairman Mike Bull (vice chairman Devon and Cornwall Police Authority) commented that although there had been comments on ways to improve, there had not been any complaints.

"This is such a wonderful tribute to the work the police are doing in the Crediton area," he said.

"It is a difficult job and I shall tell the Chief Constable. If people were not satisfied, there would be more people here tonight," he added.
