LAST year the village of Newton St Cyres achieved remarkable success in the South West in Bloom competition - and it hopes to repeat it again this year!

On Wednesday, July 8, Mr Bob Ollier, the former Chair of Anglia in Bloom who has moved and joined the South West in Bloom Committee, spent three hours on a judging route around the village.

Christine Fraser, Newton St Cyres Britain in Bloom Co-ordinator, took Mr Ollier to the railway station garden, arboretum, Kingfisher Close gardens, wilding at the primary school, community larder and allotment, saw painted bikes with baskets of flowers to highlight sustainable travel and the Boniface Trail, which local residents have spent so much time working on, and much more.
