THE President of Colebrooke Womens’ Institute, Valerie Pennington, welcomed members to the September Meeting which was held at Colebrooke Parish Hall.

Speaker for the evening was Liz Smerdon. She took up art when she retired and joined Exmouth Art Group.

When she moved back to Crediton in 2018 she joined Newton St Cyres Art Group. She also runs an Art Group at Crediton Bowling Club during the winter months.

We then had a ‘hands-on’ session to paint a robin using watercolours under the supervision of Liz as she demonstrated how to apply the paint.

Members also discussed where they would like to go for their Christmas Meal in December. Six members agreed to go to the Red Earth Group Meeting at Coldridge on October 19.

For our November Meeting, Jenni Pitts will be demonstrating Wreath Making,
