HAVING lived in Mid-Devon for 20 years, and in Cheriton Fitzpaine for five years as Priest-in-Charge, Kingsley has retired from active ministry and is moving back to the South Hams, where he previously farmed.
He was bid farewell, firstly by the two Churches in Cheriton at a Service in St Matthew’s, and secondarily by representatives of the eight churches in the Benefice, again at Cheriton.
He was presented with a beautiful, handmade wooden footstool trimmed with lambswool and a cheque.
Kingsley and his wife Christina have been valued leaders in our community, and have done much to foster good relations between Anglicans and Methodists.
There will now be a vacancy. However, services continue at intervals in both St Matthew’s, and the Methodist Church with social distancing and with congregants wearing masks.
