THE Bookery is delighted to welcome eco-psychotherapist and herbalist Brigit Anna McNeill for an evening of conversation and inspiration at 7pm on Thursday, January 15.
Brigit will be joined by acclaimed nature writer and friend of The Bookery, Sophie Pavelle, for a discussion about Brigit’s new book, The Wild Within: What Plants Taught Me about Life, Recovery and Renewal.
Described as “a gloriously uplifting book” that informs and transforms, The Wild Within is a deeply personal and beautifully written journey through trauma, healing, and the wisdom of the natural world.
In short, viscerally alive chapters, Brigit explores the lives of plants in her wooded Devon landscape, revealing how their cycles of growth and bloom mirror our own paths to recovery.
Her reflections offer rays of hope and gentle guidance for reconnecting with the wildness within ourselves—even in the most ordinary wildernesses, from window boxes to parkland.
Echoing the journey of a plant itself, this is a personal exploration of rewilding and recovery… Brigit delivers a botanical journey to healing.
With beautiful illustrations, this gloriously uplifting book will both inform and transform reader’s daily lives.
Brigit McNeill is an eco-psychotherapist and herbalist, and the author of Bloom & Thrive: Essential Healing Herbs and Flowers. She shares her nature-based insights with over 50,000 followers on Instagram and lives in Dartington, Devon.

The evening will include an audience Q&A and book-signing.
